Wrightsville Beach’s Bicycle Regulations:

  1. Every person riding a bicycle shall be subject to all of the laws of this state applicable to vehicles.
  2. Every person operating a bicycle shall ride as near to the right-hand side of the roadway as practicable.
  3. Persons riding bicycles upon a roadway shall not ride more than two abreast.
  4. No person shall ride a bicycle upon any sidewalk or walkway within the town.

(Excerpts from Wrightsville Beach Town Code, Chapter 71.These ordinances are in effect all year). NOTE: “The Loop” is a sidewalk, and, assuch, bicycles are prohibited. North Carolina law requires every person under 16 years old to wear an approved bicycle helmet when operating a bicycle.
